Satoshi Tanba is a Left Midfielder/Left Winger for East Tokyo United.
Despite his age, Tanba remained at first in the starting XI under Coach Takeshi Tatsumi. He scored against Yokohama F. Marinos during ETU's 5th Japan Cup group match. However, when both Yotaro Natsuki and Kyohei Sera were available and healthy, he lost his starting position at Left Midfielder to Sera.
Tanba started at his usual position during ETU's 13th League match against Kawasaki Frontier, after he showed to Coach Tatsumi that he cared about ETU during the Curry Party that the latter had ETU hold for the club and its fans. During the match, he showed leadership as he was giving directions to both Sera and Daisuke Tsubaki about their positioning to improve the attack[1].
Since he lost his starting position to Kyohei Sera, he is the latter's backup at Left Midfielder/Left Winger.
Coach Tatsumi described Tanba as the mood maker, as he never get overwhelmed by the situation like when Tokyo Victory regained momentum following Mochida's entrance as a substitute in the match[2].
